When was the last time you focused on the simple act of breathing?

To pause and take a breath can be very beneficial. When you are going through stressful moments you sometimes pause to take a longer breath to calm yourself. When you focus on your breathing it can help you in a variety of ways.

In Martial Arts certain ways of breathing are used during various parts of training to focus energy and direct intention. This is done to create power, create calm, the key word being create. Breathing exercises are used in singing, acting, meditation, and a variety of other activities including daily life. Can you live without breathing? Of course not, yet how often do you focus your simple act of drawing breath into your body and exhaling it out?

Take a few moments and focus on your breathing. Slowly breath in focusing on what you are creating and slowly breathe out releasing what does not serve you. If you can create the habit of doing this when you are starting and ending your day you may be surprised at some of the things you create!

To start at the beginning, something must first end. Each moment is precious and time once spent is in the moment created. This allows us to mark everything we cherish and everything we accomplish as we go.

This year is coming to a close allowing the new year to be celebrated. What are you celebrating at the New Years mark? Resolutions are often great ideas, they are no substitution for a plan of action! Some of the things I hear as resolutions are:

Lose weight, eat better, get fit, exercise more

Take more time with my family, take better care of myself, make better use of my time

Make more money, manage my money better, get a better job

and the list goes on an on with lots of common themes. The themes center around one or more of four basic things we want. These four things are us from the inside out. Want to get to the best version of yourself? Start at the beginning. My gift yo you for the holidays is covering how to go from taking an idea, and turning into action. I will be doing a special presentation series for the holidays. Sign up for our list, and we will send it to you or you can click the link below. Happy Holidays to you for all of your celebrations.

Merry Christmas,

Jo
Read More

An Introduction to Wellness

Begin within!

The heart lives within the mind, the mind lives within the body, the body lives within the spirit.

Decisions we make are based on how we feel about what we are deciding. (There are some great TED Talks on this.) When deciding to make changes begin with your emotional core. When creating wellness this translates into incorporating the choices and habits that allow us to feel the way we want to feel. How does your Lifestyle Legacy feel to you? Are you waking excited to start your day feeling energized and joyful? Are you creating powerful positive impact with your work? Are you spending the day having a new adventure with your family? Begin at the beginning and decide what feelings you are creating and having consistently on a daily basis.

Once you have decided the emotional context move into the mind. The connection between your emotions and the actions take place when you decide on the course of action from where you are emotionally to creating the consistent emotional state. Strengthening that connection will facilitate the next phase, the body.

Emotion has been linked directly into thought and now the changes are being made in your life and directly impacting your body. This is where intention collides with outside influences. When creating your version of life you will find that everyone will have some kind of opinion. Strengthen the link between your heart, mind, and body by focusing on what you have chosen to create by taking action toward your choices every day. The focus on yourself will lead you naturally into the next phase, your spirit.

We all have information handed down or sought out that defines our spirit to us. I personally believe that our spirit is simply our connection. Our spirit is the intention field in which the heart, mind, and body reside. Is it that surprising considering how things happen in our world?

Your lifestyle, your legacy is being created by you from the moment you are born....Read More
